Cheap Single Pushchairs

The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a excellent choice if you're on a tight budget and don't need a stroller that can be used as a car seat carrier. It comes with a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push and it feels solid when walking along woodland paths and kerbs. Plus, single seat buggy it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned a reputation as the ultimate stroller that is lightweight, suitable for urban dwellers as well as jet-setters. This is thanks to its nimble maneuverability and fold-down design that can be incorporated into the overhead baggage of an aircraft. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels, made of Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate through all kinds of surfaces and terrain'.

The bent fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6months of colour pack are combined to create a stylish pushchair that has a soft elegant design. The base frame weighs less than a kilogram and is so light you can lift it from the box using just one hand.

It's also easy to attach or remove attachments or adaptors - the hood, for instance, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable to prevent staining from rice cakes smushed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as a pram. It can also be converted to a stroller by 6 months with the YOYO connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents who are looking for a versatile stroller wagon. The Evenflo Pivot can be converted from a stroller into the wagon by turning the handle. Parents can then choose which one is the best fit for their journey. The wagon can accommodate two or more children between 6 months to five years old. It has a large storage basket that can hold everything you need on the go.

The Xplore also comes with two canopies that rotate from the front to the back, offering ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This isn't suitable for long journeys or napping.

The frame of the Xplore feels sturdy and solid, although it does not have the same flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and it isn't able to lock securely once folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through narrow doors of 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for an affordable second stroller for their travels. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for its weight and folded dimensions. This means it's lightweight and compact single stroller when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk for your car. It also has a multi-position reclined seat and cup holders for the parent. Other important features include 360-degree shock absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

In our test of push and turn, it did better than the majority of other cheap strollers we test, but it's not the most comfortable to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest strollers we test. They only cover the top, and don't have windows that peek out. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have much larger canopy sizes.

The Delta took us just under 3 minutes to put together using an average manual and no components required tools. However, it's missing some essential features that we think you should consider non-negotiable in a double stroller, like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
